The Wizard allows you to quickly and easily create the skeleton of your application. With wizard you can quickly; select which data tables should be introduced to NETIGMA, which columns of this table should be used and turned into what, placed where in the app etc.

This page gives step by step guides about Wizard.

Step 1 (Open Wizard)

  • Open the Wizard page from your local, e.g. localhost/applicationName/wizard

  • When you click on the Continue button, the page pops up with information on how many tables are available in the database and what can be done with the wizard.

Step 2 (Choose Tables)

  • On the left side of the page that opens after clicking on the Continue procesing button, the tables in the database will be listed. The tables to be transferred as objects to Netigma application are selected from this window.

  • After clicking on Continue processing button, the necessary tables will be added to Meta. Below, detailed description of next step's screen is given:

Step 3 (Edit Data Fields)

Through the data edit field screen:

  •  Select which data columns should added to meta (check Add )
  • how should they behave? (query editor, data table, Info Form)
  • how should they look,? (data table/display editor type, Info form, query )
  • what should be their names(display name)

Data Fields Edit Screen

Data Fields are the data columns you can think them as attributes of the object. In the wizard, you can quickly edit data fields, define their properties, change their display names, position them in the menu list, define lookup etc.

Here below you can find the general look of the data field edit screen of the Netigma Wizard:

 Object menu definitions

In this window, the following definitions are made for each object.

  • Display Name is the name of object's, in Object List page, in Meta.
  • Menu Position determines where to add the menu in the current menu in your application. For example you may want to locate your new menu, inside the other menu item etc. If the Menu Display Name is entered; but the Menu Position is not specified, a new menu is added to the main menu automatically. See menu operations for details.
  • Menu DisplayName is created by the application when a data is entered in this field.
  • Menu Image allows you to add icons to the menu sidebar. You may want to choose them in order to imply the purpose of the created menu.

Data Field Definitions

The tablature at the bottom of the screen has the following definitions for each column (area) to which each object will be transferred to Netigma.

Field is the name of the column in the database, cannot be changed.

When Add column is checked, the relevant data column is going to be used as an attribute of the Netigma object.

Display Name allows you to edit the display name of the column. Where the colony appears in the application interface, that is, the query screen, the query result list header, the information form, the report field, and the name of the report.

Data Table is the field in which the column is to appear in the query result list. Click on this area, you'll see a list of data tables, select the appropriate one for your purposes.

Query is the field in which the column appears in the query screen.

Information Form is the field in which the column will appear in the information form. Info forms are very beneficial to extend your content in your application. Moreover, they serve like gateway to edit the existing records.

Lookup : From here make the corresponding lookup definitions, if you want to add lookup feature to the column. This will effect its behaviour in the queries.

Step 4 (Save)

After you select the editor types, and rename them etc. click on Save button. Then you'll see Design Query and Design Form buttons at the bottom of the page:

Step 5 (Design Query Screen and Form Page)

Form Design

Click on the "Design Form" button at the bottom of the screen. Depending on your Info Form editor selection for the data clumns, you'll have edit options. For example if you've selected Textbox Integer form editor type for a data column, then in the form page, you'll see a field that accepts Textbox Integer for that field. In other words, if you/your end users want to add new records through the forms, appropriate type of inputs should be used depending on the form editor type.

Query Design

Similar to form design: click on the "Design Query" button at the bottom of the screen. Depending on your query editor selection for the data columns, you'll have edit options. For example if you've selected Textbox Integer query editor type for a data column, then in the query screen, you'll see a field that accepts Textbox Integer for that field to perform query. So you/your end users will query that data field using the specified query editor.

Step 6 (Exit Wizard)

  • After your operations for editor designing, click on End Process to exit the Wizard.

Check What Just Happened?

After you exit the wizard; if you've defined menu display name and position information- object menu operations- in step 3; then you see the object in the application menu list. It was Happiness Around the World in the data field edit screen as an example

The example Query Screen, created with Wizard:

. The query result list of that query is given below. Depending on the data table, the query results come with that view type, for instance Happiness Score data column's data table has been selected as star view etc.
