How to Create Statistical Report? How to Create Thematic Map?

This document will explain the thematic mapping feature of the "Statistical Report" option in the query pages.

Generally Statistical Report Concepts

On the query page of a Netigma object there are 3 query option under the titles of

  • "Standard Fields",
  • "Areas you will choose" and
  • "Statistical Report".

The Statistical Report tab presents a list of selectable elements for fields of that object under each heading, presenting subject and related objects to the page as headings. We can evaluate the fields in the list in two different categories, group and cluster. The following screen image shows the Group and Cluster fields of the Neighborhood object.

The group fields allow the backward data to be displayed with a normal listing logic, while the cluster fields provide a value in the result of aggregating the data and summarizing the result as a sum, number, average, minimum, etc. These categories, which include areas, are influential in creating a thematic map of this report as well as a statistical report.

In the above screen view, the list of objects and fields appearing on the above screen image is displayed with the selection of 'Mahalle.ObjectId', 'Mahalle.Mahalle Adı' and 'Yapı.Ortalama Kat Adedi' fields.

As you can see, the Object ID and Neighborhood Name fields show a real data of the relevant record. The Average Number of Floors field shows the average of the floor information related to the Neighborhood.

Creating Thematic Map from Statistics Report

Creating Thematic Map from Statistics Report

To create thematic from a generated statistical report, click on the Import Thematic explained image button in the lower right corner of the list.

Clicking 'Import Thematic' button opens the thematic configuration window shown below.

The options in the thematic configuration window are:

Object

It allows the selection of the object that is the subject of the thematic. This lists the spatial ones from the objects (tables) that the fields you selected on the previous screen, ie the statistical report creation screen. If none of the selected fields is a spatial object then this list is empty and thematic can not be created. That is to say, if we select the object selection, the selected spatial object will determine which objects will be created based on their geographical information, that is, they will have both the neighborhood and the parcel object fields in question. When import thematic according to the neighborhood is clicked, neighborhoods will be shown in the map (boundaries will be drawn), and parcels will be displayed on the map when import thematic according to the parcel is clicked.

 Thematic Type

Tematik Tipi

Another option in the thematic configuration window is the thematic type information. Possible thematic type options, meanings and explanations are as follows.

  •  Group Area Thematic

If there is at least one group field in the thematic, this option will appear in the thematic type field.

The thematic slots created by the 'Group field thematic' option are defined by group field knowledge. Thus, other visual groupings such as coloring in the map will be made according to the thematic group area to be made according to the slots.

Example: The following list and thematic map will be created as a result of a statistical query made according to the name and area of the neighborhood. As will be noted, the coloring of the neighborhoods was made according to the 4th area and these intervals were determined according to the neighborhood areas.

  • Group Area Numerical Thematic

If there is at least one group field in the interrogation subject, and this field is a numeric type, this option will appear in the thematic type field.

In this type of thematic group fields are grouped by dividing them into specific ranges, and the slots are defined according to this range information. For example, in a 30-line list of 100-175 | 175-250 | 250-325 | 325-400, and one slot is defined for these slots. The interval count is initially set to 4, but changes can be made later or configurable. If the number of intervals is not divisible by the number of groups desired, the number may decrease if it does not make sense.

Example: The following list of maps will be created as a result of a statistical query made according to the name of the neighborhood. As will be noted, the coloring was created according to 4 groups of divisions of neighborhood spans. Another point to note is that neighborhoods are being used as geographical units. In other words, one part of a locality does not enter a group and the other part does not enter another group. The neighborhood is entering in a group.

  • Cluster Area Thematic

If there is at least one cluster field in the interrogation subject, this option will appear in the thematic type field.

The slots created by the 'cluster field thematic' option are defined by the cluster field knowledge. Thus, other visual groupings such as coloring in the map will be done according to the thematic cluster area to be made according to the slots

Example: The following list of maps will be created as a result of a statistical query made according to the name of the neighborhood. As will be noted, the coloring was done according to the average number of floors in the neighborhood. Also, as in the previous examples, the neighborhood was treated as a unit, and a half color was not another color.

  • Cluster Area Numerical Thematic

If there is at least one cluster field in the interrogation subject, and this field is a numeric type, this option will appear in the thematic type field.

In such a type, the cluster fields are grouped by dividing them into specific ranges, and the slots are defined according to this range information.

Example: As a result of a statistical query made according to the name of the neighborhood and building numbers, the following thematic map will be formed by the numerical selection of the following list and cluster area. As will be noted, the colorings were grouped according to the number of buildings. The integrity of the neighborhood did not deteriorate, so a whole neighborhood remained in a color.

 Thematic Templates

Thematic Templates

Another option in the thematic configuration window is the thematic template information. The thematic template selection acts as a template for the visual settings of the thematic map, such as coloring, browsing, etc.

The thematic template options will be listed by exploring the image and netcad6 thematic xml files in the  /Module/ThematicTemplate directory of the application, as will be seen in the screenshot above. The application allows you to select the desired theme by listing the files with the xml extension under this directory and the files with the same name with different extensions (which must be picture extensions) to the user. To add a new theme named "Netcad Theme 1", add the Netcad6 thematic file named NetcadTema1.xml under the /ModulData/ThematicTemplate directory and the appropriate image file named NetcadTema1.jpg to be used as the icon to represent this template.

Example: We will get the following map if we create the "Cluster Field Numerical Map" map created with sample thematic template named 'Original1' with sample thematic template named 'Original2'.
